Ni-Driven Evolution of Pseudogap and Superconducting Gap in Underdoped Cuprate

چکیده

In the presented study, Ni impurity is used to probe pseudogap and superconducting gap in underdoped cuprate La1.85Sr0.15CuO4. The longitudinal magnetoresistance measurements reveal presence of local maximum at same temperature Tmax, below which zero-field resistivity parallel-resistor model deviates from its T2-dependence. Tracking systematic evolution with content y allows equating Tmax T*. rate closing by magnetic field consistent spin-paramagnetic effect, also main pair-breaking process destroying superconductivity configuration. thermal energy scale kBT* for y=0 equal relevant Zeeman scale. With increasing y, both scales separate each other. increased Stoner factor partially responsible enhancement Pauli effect decrease limiting y.

Quasiparticles in the Pseudogap Phase of Underdoped Cuprate

Recent angle resolved photoemission [1] and scanning tunneling microscopy [2] measurements on underdoped cuprates have yielded new spectroscopic information on quasiparticles in the pseudogap phase. New features of the normal state such as particle-hole asymmetry, maxima in the energy dispersion and accompanying drops in the spectral weight of quasiparticles agree with the ansatz of Yang et al....

Fermi surface dichotomy of the superconducting gap and pseudogap in underdoped pnictides.

High-temperature superconductivity in iron-arsenic materials (pnictides) near an antiferromagnetic phase raises the possibility of spin-fluctuation-mediated pairing. However, the interplay between antiferromagnetic fluctuations and superconductivity remains unclear in the underdoped regime, which is closer to the antiferromagnetic phase. Here we report that the superconducting gap of underdoped...

Fermi surface and pseudogap evolution in a cuprate superconductor.

The unclear relationship between cuprate superconductivity and the pseudogap state remains an impediment to understanding the high transition temperature (T(c)) superconducting mechanism. Here, we used magnetic field-dependent scanning tunneling microscopy to provide phase-sensitive proof that d-wave superconductivity coexists with the pseudogap on the antinodal Fermi surface of an overdoped cu...

Pseudogap and Competing States in Underdoped Cuprates

I shall argue that the high Tc problem is the problem of doping into a Mott insulator. Furthermore, the well documented pseudo-gap phenomenon in underdoped cuprates holds the key to understanding this physics. Phase fluctuation alone cannot explain this phenomenon, but there is a clear need to identify a competing state which lives in the vortex core. The staggered flux state is a good candidat...

Gap and pseudogap evolution within the charge-ordering scenario for superconducting cuprates

We describe the spectral properties of underdoped cuprates as resulting from a momentumdependent pseudogap in the normal state spectrum. Such a model accounts, within a BCS approach, for the doping dependence of the critical temperature and for the two-parameter leading-edge shift observed in the cuprates. By introducing a phenomenological temperature dependence of the pseudogap, which finds a ...
